Products

Products are the link between spots and materials whereat several materials can be allocated to one product. In MYDAS products define an intermediate level which might be required especially for product-wise invoicing.

Most agencies place their campaigns on product level first. The assignment of materials is made only a few days before the broadcast dates. 

Creation of products

Creation of products
  1. Selection of the client. Generally it´s best to create a product out of the client master data record. In this case product and client are automatically linked.
  2. Selection of branche information like product family. If the product information is properly maintained, detailed planning can be conducted much more efficiently. Even automated detailed planning would be possible.
  3. The end credits which are mandatory for OTC-products (e.g. homeopathic medicine) in Germany can be selected in the product master data. This way the 4 seconds required for the credits are withdrawn automatically from the relevant spot length.

General data

General data
  1. Name - name of the product
  2. Advertiser - selection of the advertiser who promotes the product
  3. Internal Number - optional field for an internal product number differing from the product ID
  4. External Number - optional field for an external product number, e.g. the client´s agency´s product ID. This ID is displayed in the EDI data.  
  5. Visible - if the checkbox is marked, the product is visible in the Booking Cockpit in the product-selection-field
  6. Lock - if the checkbox is marked, the product cannot be booked anymore
  7. Material end title - if there shall be credits displayed at the end of the spot, an end title can be selected
  8. Not deletable - if the checkbox is marked, the product cannot be removed from the booking anymore
  9. External reference ID - optional field for external IDs that are used by interfaces
  10. Create Material - a material for the product can be created and is immediatly linked to the product
  11. Copy product - a new data set with identical product data is created. Only the material has to be allocated manually.
  12. Lock/unlock product - the product can be locked resp. unlocked. The Lock-checkbox will be marked resp. unmarked after pushing this button.

Settings

  1. Validity - if a validity is selected, the product will only be bookable in a certain period of time and/ or a particular time frame
  2. Soft booking restriction - if the checkbox is marked, the product validity (which has been selected in field 1) will be partly disabled.  How this works will be explained in the following steps.
    Please note: if the checkbox is not marked and a validity is assigned to the product, there will only be ad breaks displayed that match the date and time range of the validity. Booking breaks outside the validity will not be possible as they will not be displayed as bookable.
  3. Targetgroup - once a target group is selected, the product will only be bookable for this target group
  4. Product family - selection of an appropriate product family. If there's a valid mapping of the selected product family to product group and economic sector, this hierarchy will be displayed beneath the product family field.
  5. Product class - if there are exclusions based on product classes stored in the system, a product class should be selected
  6. Can be combined - if the checkbox is marked, it is allowed to use the product for Co-spots along with other products
  7. Avoid replication of ad windows - if the checkbox is marked, the product will not be booked automatically on the copied spot in case the spot has been copied from master medium to feed channel in an ad-frame.
  1. The fields From/ To determine the date range. Ad breaks outside this date range will not be displayed as bookable.
  2. The fields Time from/ Time until determine the time range. Ad breaks outside this time range will be marked with a little clock-icon.
  3. The day selection determines the days on which the connected record (in this case the product) will be bookable. Ad breaks on excluded days will not be displayed as bookable.

Material

Material

All materials linked to the product are displayed. They can be opened and afterwards edited. New materials can be created via the Special Action-button and are immediatly linked to the product and visible in this tab.

Fields in product record

  • Name - name of the product
