Import of Price Schemas and Ratecards

After all the necessary settings regarding the price folder have been made. Can the price lists or the rate cards be imported? There are templates for this in Excel that you can download directly in this chapter. Please only use the templates offered to create a new price list or overwrite a file that has already been successfully imported.

Create a Pricelist in Excel

The price list in MYDAS is very simple and clear. When importing, a separate data record is generated from this file for each line.

  1. Enter the Media Combi ID for which this price list is valid in cell A2. You can find the Media Combi ID in the corresponding Combi master data record
  2. Enter the price model ID in cell B2
  3. In cell C3 you enter the basic length to which the price refers
  4. In column A the date from is given - ie from when this price is valid
  5. The validity date until when the price is valid is stored in column B
  6. Column C contains the tariff type - please always enter the value 1 here as long as there are no other tariff types
  7. In column C you enter the price group number
  8. Finally, in column E, you enter the price

If the prices do not change during the year, you can have a validity from 1.1. - 31.12. enter. If the prices can change monthly, seasonally or event-related, it is better if you save monthly prices. That gives you more flexibility.

Danger! If prices should change, always add a new entry below and let the individual prices set from the date of the price change until the end of the year. The previously valid prices may neither be deleted nor overwritten. Any change would affect past bookings.

Create a PG-Schema in Excel

The price group scheme assigns the prices to a time grid. This price group scheme is imported into MYDAS using an Excel template.

  1. In cell B1 you enter the ID of the medium for which this scheme is to be used. You can find the ID in the master data record of the medium
  2. In cell D1 you enter the tariff type this should always be set to 1 by default unless you work with several tariff types
  3. Enter the validity of the PG scheme in cells B2 and C2.
  4. Enter the price group numbers in the cells below

The PG Schema has to be saved as .csv format. PLEASE take attention that the separators are definde as semikolon not as comma.

The dateformat has to be dd.mm.yyyy

You can select the temporal granularity yourself according to the requirements. To do this, simply create a 24h timeline in column A that meets your needs.

If the price groups change during the year, you must enter the validity of the new PG schema file from the first day of the new price group distribution. Under no circumstances should you choose a date in the past, as this would change the prices in the past!

Check Pricelist and PG Schema before Upload

In any case, it makes sense to check the prices before they are imported into MYDAS. Do this in three steps:

1. Find the price in your rate card

2. Find this price in your price list file and identify the PG

3. Search for the corresponding PG in the PG scheme file

The PG must reflect the price from the rate card

Import Pricelist

The best way to find the price import is to enter the term <Price> in the function search bar. Then select <Price Import>.

  1. Select the appropriate price file on your drive
  2. Click on the <Upload> button
  3. After the file appears in the list click on the <Import> link

Please note two things for the file you are importing.

Pricereorg

If you have imported a new price file or PG schema file, you have to carry out a price reorg so that the new prices are assigned to the advertising breaks in the database.

  1. Select the channel and activate the checkbox
  2. Choose a time period
  3. Click the Broadcast Schedule Price button

The prices will now be updated. This may take several minutes. At the end you will get a message (4) about how many updates or errors have occurred with the Reorg.
