Introduction UI
Welcome to MYDAS
MYDAS is a completely web-based application. In other words, all functions are carried out via a browser such as Firefox, Chrome or Safari. After entering your username and password, you will be redirected to a neutral start screen. The elements of the home screen are:
- Module Header: Here you will find easy access to the specific functions of a module
- Function menu bar: The menu bar takes you directly to the functions
- Functions search: You can also enter a search term and use it to search directly for functions
- You can find your personal settings or access to admin functions (if you have the role of admin) here
- The work area takes up most of the screen.
The Functions Menu
If we take a closer look at the menu bar on the left edge of the screen, we will see 3 important functions:
1. The search field at the top
2. Turning off and showing the menu bar
3. The configuration of a personal menu (home menu)
Search for features
(1) By entering a search term, all functions related to the search term are displayed. Functions are also shown that do not have the search term in their name but are related to the term. By clicking on the "X" right next to the search field (2) you will reset the search.
Show and hide menu
Sometimes you need more space to work. In this case you can expand your workspace by clicking on the "burger" icon next to the MYDAS logo.
In this case, the function menu is hidden. If you move your mouse pointer to the left edge of the screen, the menu will appear.
You can fix the menu again by clicking the "burger" icon again.

The home menu
MYDAS offers a very wide range of functions. In day-to-day business you will certainly use some of the functions on a regular and/or permanent basis. Therefore, MYDAS offers you the opportunity to create your own personalized menu with your favorite functions that you need on a permanent basis. To do this, select the desired function in the functions menu and click on the (1) pin on the right upper corner of your screen (under your user name).
After you clicked on this pin, switch to the (2) HOME area which you can find above in the MODULE HEADER.

You can now find the menu entry in your personal HOME menu. This menu is always retained even after logging out. Click on the minus icon (1) to remove the entry.
The basic UI Elements
Here we have a small overview of the most common UI elements in MYDAS. Since the system has grown over the years and has worked with a large number of different frameworks, it would go beyond the scope to include all of them in detail. Therefore, only the UI of the basic framework is shown here. If a special UI deviates from the scheme, we will describe this in more detail in the respective place.
Create a new data record
You will find the "New" Button always at the right upper area of your workspace. By hovering over the button it changes its color to green. Clicking on this button opens an empty data record screen.
Save datarecord (changes)
The "Save" Button you will find on the right bottom of your working space. By hovering across the button it will change its color to orange.
You can also save directly by pressing the Enter key.
Next to the "Save" Button you see the "Refresh" Button. The fact, that MYDAS is a Web-Application means it is sometimes necessary that you have to refresh your screen after saving a data record. In this case, MYDAS asks the server in the back-end for actual data records.
Mandatory Fields
A field that is marked with an asterisk is a mandatory field. Meaning, that you have to enter a value otherwise it is not possible to save the data record.

Button next to Fields
Next to data fields you will recognize some buttons. Depending on your rights as a user, more or less of these buttons will be displayed.

- With the "X" button you can reset the entry in the field
- With the "+" button you can create a new entry in the database (if you have the rights)
- The folder button shows you further details about this data entry. You will then be forwarded within the system
Text Field
The text field is a single line input form. In MYDAS, the text field is mostly used to name a data record

Text Area
The text field is a multi-line input form. In MYDAS, the text field is mostly used for free text comments.

Datepicker / Date Field
You can enter a date in two ways. Either you use the date picker by clicking on the calendar icon, or you enter the value directly in the given field

Of course, you can also enter the date values directly in the field provided and confirm with Enter (or Save).
If you use the format dd/mm/yyyy, you don't have to pay attention to the point between the day, month and year.

Drop Down
You can select a value from a list using a drop-down field. (1) Clicking on the drop-down field opens a selection of values. Click on the value (2) you want to select and it will automatically be transferred to the field.
You can configure the list that opens in the drop-down box in the same way as a table view. You can find out how this works here.
Multi-select Box /Multi-select Table
The Multi-select Box offers the possibility to select several dates. This form always comes into play when several features can be selected from a list.
By clicking on the magnifying glass, a list of options opens. You can now accept the values in your selection by clicking on the lines.
You can also remove values from your selection by clicking on the "X" icon.
You can even configure that table in the same way as a table view. You can find out how this works here.
