Break categories

Break categories determine the characteristics of ad breaks.

  1. Name - name of the break category
  2. Identifier - identifier of the break category. The identifier has to be unique.
  3. External identifier - the external identifier is used when importing broadcasting schedules.
  4. Exportable - if the flag is not set, the spots booked on this category aren't included in Nielsen Reports
  5. Groups - optional allocation to break category groups
  6. Media type - if media types are selected, the break category will only be valid for media of the selected types.
  7. Format type - selection of the default format type for breaks of the category, e.g. seconds or frames.
  8. Regional - is the break category only available in particular regions (e.g. in certain feed channels abroad)?
  9. WB-Richtlinien - determines whether the break category is included for the calculation of planned length and available lenght per flexible hour
  10. FairShare relevance - break categories with value = 0 are not fairshare-relevant
  11. Single-Spot-Container - if this flag is set, it is only allowed to book 1 single spot on the break
  12. Max. No. of spots - in this field the maximum of spots that can be booked on a break is determined. The value 0 means that there are no restrictions on the number of spots.
  13. Default length - only relevant for Single-Spot-Containers. The field determines the default length of SSC.
  14. Internal leadtime - the value for the internal leadtime overrides the internal leadtime of the medium.
  15. External leadtime - the value for the external leadtime overrides the external leadtime of the medium.
  16. Visability auth - not in use
  17. Display colour - in the break editor the breaks are displayed in the colour, that is entered in this field. The colour needs to be in hex-format (#FFFFF).
  18. Standard - if the flag is set, the breaks are classic ad breaks. Otherwise they are treated as ad specials.
  19. Hauptblock - if the flag is set, the breaks are treated as master breaks (relevant for gross length adaption after broadcast schedule imports)
  20. Optimierungsvarianten - only for non-standard breaks an optimization-option can be selected. This option will be used for gross length optimization of ad specials. Planned length and max. planned length of master breaks are reduced in case an ad special is booked and maximized in case of ad special cancellations. If ad specials are rebooked, the (max.) planned length of the master break will be updated accordingly. The optimization always refers to the breaks within one full hour e.g. from 11 to 12. The respective breaks are identified by their start times and the ad-relevancy of order types and closing credits are observed.
  21. Break - the flag determines whether the breaks interrupt a program (opposites of interruptions would be e.g. crawler).
  22. GfK-relevant - are the breaks relevant for GfK?
  23. Secondary Event - are the breaks considered as Secondary Events?
  24. Number of blackframes - the number of blackframes within a break is determined by this field
  25. GfK-Protokolltitel - name of the category for the GfK-reporting.
  26. Default Planlänge - if necessary a default value for the planned length of the breaks can be entered for program planning.
  27. Sichtbar in Programmplanung und MEPRYS - if the breaks are supposed to be visible in program planning and MEPRYS, the flag must be set.
  28. Sponsoring - the flag is set if the breaks are sponsorings.

If the maximum lengths (in seconds) are entered, they are shown in the EDI+ report. In case the fields are empty, the lenghts are not shown in the EDI+ report.
