Grid optimizer
The Grid optimizer is used for optimizing the breaks and the booked campaign spots on channels that use the BreakBuilder module.

Setup of the Grid Optimizer
The Grid optimizer consists of 5 parts:
- in the filter section you can set filters and restrictions on break categories, hours and programs that are about to be displayed
- in the program section you select options for the booking calendar's view
- channel selection
- in the booking calendar the breaks and bookings of the selected days are displayed
- the clipboard which can be displayed or hidden is used to organize unplaced and preempted spots
Filter selection

- In the "Break"-tab you can select the break categories that will be displayed by selecting their checkboxes. Breaks that belong to unselected categories are not displayed in the calendar. The coloured boxes show the breaks' colours in the calendar and the numbers in the boxes are the amount of breaks of this category on the selected days.
- In the "Time"-tab you can select the checkboxes of the hours that will be displayed in the calendar.
- In the "Program"-tab you can put restrictions on specific programs. If the checkbox of a program is not selected, there won't be any breaks that are planned during this program displayed in the calendar. The numbers quantify how many program parts of each program are planned on the day.
Customizing of calendar view
- Through the Zoom bar the user can zoom in and out on the broadcast elements. The lower the zoom factor the more precise is the display of programs, breaks and spots.
- Scope - with this function you control how many days are displayed in the calendar frame. If you select a 4-day period and put the scope on "1", there will only be one day displayed in the frame and you will have to scroll to left or right to see the other days. If you select "2", two days will share the frame. The higher the scope the more days are displayed at once and share the calendar frame.
- Selection of the period that is about to be displayed.
- Reload and update the view via Refresh-button.
- By clicking on the weekdays you can remove/ set the green check. If the check isn't set, the respective weekdays won't be displayed in the calendar.
- Advertiser Clashes - creates a report on violations of exclusions on advertiser level in the selected period
- Product Clashes - creates a report on violations of exclusions on product level in the selected period
- Material issues - creates a report on issues with materials (e.g. missing materials) in the selected period
- Capacity issues - filters the breaks that aren't booked optimally. This function will be detailed in the following step
- User Anzeige Settings - select the spot information that are displayed in the breaks (e.g. material ID, product name, campaign ID)
- Spot Exceptions - creates a report on all bookings that are unplaced, preempted or filler

The Capacity Check provides several possibilities of filtering breaks that aren't booked optimally:
- less than - filters all breaks with less available time than the selected amount of seconds
- more than - filters all breaks with more available time than the selected amount of seconds
- equal - filters all breaks with equal available time than the selected amount of seconds
- show all - no restrictions, all breaks of the day are displayed
- show disabled breaks - filters only locked/ hidden breaks
To not display hidden break types you need to select the "Ignore"-checkbox in addition to the filters.
Calendar view
- Doubleclicking on the header opens the detailed view of the break.
- The number in the red box informs on the amount of material issues in the break.
- Breaktype and coding of the break
- Start time of the break
- Planned length (in minutes) of the break

The spots that are booked on a break are listed one below the other in the break. They contain all the columns with data (if available for the spot) the user selected in the user display settings. The only exception is the external house number, which is displayed by default. The order of the columns can also be modified in the user display settings by moving the column names to the favoured positions. Detailed description in Table view of master data and control values
Break details

The break details are opened by doubleclicking the break header.
The details contain:
- the exceptions (like corrupt bookings) detected in the break
- common information on the break and the name of the program the break interrupts
- the spots booked on the break

A rightclick on the dates in the calendar header opens the context menu with options for views on the day.
The different view options are:

- invoice
Additionally to the view options there are general functionalities that are available in the context menu of all of the views:

- AutoFill - this functionality moves certain types of campaign spots that have been unplaced (visible in tab "Filler" in the clipboard) back to matching breaks on the selected day.
The Clipboard
The tabs of the clipboard contain the spots that have been moved there from the breaks. Basic information for each spot are displayed and by clicking on the column headlines the spots can be sorted ascending or descending.
Tab "Unplaced"
By rightclicking a spot the context menu is opened and the following options are displayed:
- Preempt - the spot is tagged as "ready for deletion". A reason for this transaction can be selected from the list. If you select the reason "Other", you'll have to enter the reason manually in the text field.
