Creating a (Root) Deal
This article shows you how to create a Root Deal. A Root Deal is a Default Index Price List for calculating prices in MYDAS.
A root deal contains all the indications that are used to calculate the GRP price.
A root deal is the default price list that serves as the basis in MYDAS.
Creating a Root Deal is done in the same way as all other Index Price Lists, with one single exception, that will be elaborated on below.
An Index Price List in MYDAS is structured in the following way:
The structure of a deal can be imagined as a classic folder structure in common operating systems.
- The INDEX FOLDER contains all information that belongs to a deal or a price list.
- The INDEX FOLDER contains subcategories. These are classified according to TYPE.
- Market
- Target group
- Month
- Product / Selling option
In MYDAS these sub-folders are called INDEX HEADERS
Within the INDEX Header, in turn, we find the specific INDEX VALUES as individual line items.
How to create a INDEX Price List
Now we will switch to the creation of Index Price Lists or, more specifically, Root Deals in MYDAS.
Type 'index' in the search bar in the upper-left corner and press enter. Click on 'Index Folder' in the search results list.
Create an INDEX FOLDER
The existing Index Price Lists are displayed. A new Index Price List can be created by clicking on 'New' (on the top right hand corner).
A new, empty Master Data record is displayed.
Enter a name (1) and the year in which the Index Price List will be valid (2) and click on 'Save' (3).
To convert an Index Price List to a Root Deal (a Default Price List), set the checkbox in the field 'IsDefault' to active.
Once the new record has been saved for the first time, it is included in the Index Folder summary.

Index Headers can be added to a Root Deal in two ways. Firstly, existing Index Headers can be selected by clicking on the magnifying glass and selecting one (or multiple) Index Headers.
E.g. existing Index Headers for Targetgroup and Month have been added. A double-click on an Index Header opens its record.

For this Index Header, already 3 rows in the Index List exist (for January, February, and March). To create a new Index Line, click on the special action 'create Index'.
Via a pop-up message, MYDAS confirms that the task was executed. Click on 'x'.

The newly created, empty Index Line is shown in the Index List. It can be opened by double-clicking.
- Enter an IndexValue.
- Enter the start date by clicking on the calendar symbol and selecting a date.
- Enter the end date by clicking on the calendar symbol and selecting a date.
- Save the record.
After saving, return to the parent Index Header by clicking on its name.

The changes are displayed in the Index List.
Create a new INDEX HEADER
Let's return to the Index Folder record. As mentioned, in addition to adding existing Index Headers to the Index Folder, there is a second way to include Index Headers. By clicking on the '+' symbol, a new Index Header can be created, for example for a Selling Option.
A new, empty Index Header record is opened.
For a Selling Option Index Header, select 'Product' in the field 'indexTypeID' (1). Enter a 'Name' (2) and click on 'Save' (3).
Once the record is saved for the first time, the special action button 'create Index' (4) appears. Also for this new Index Header, one or multiple Index lines can be created. As shown above, these will be displayed in the Index List (5). Again, the Index lines can be opened with double-click.
- Select a Selling Option, e.g. 'Test Selling Options'.
- Enter a value in the field 'indexValue'.
- Save the record.
- After saving, return to the Index Header record.
The changes were saved --> the Index Header 341 with ID=462 has assigned to the Selling Option with ID=2123 and the entered 'indexValue' is 60.
Save the Index Header record.
Return to the Index Folder record. Now it has three Index Headers:
- One for the Monthly indices;
- One for the Targetgroup indices;
- One for the Selling Option indices.
Save the Index Folder record. The 'test' Root Deal for the year 2020 has been created.
Price Lenght Index
Attention: The Price Length Index will not be created by the Root Deal Index Folder. For the Price Lenght Index we go a different way.
You will find the UI for the Price Indicies by searching for 'PriceModel' in the search bar. Please select the Model with the ID=1.
There is already a predefined folder with a table that contains all Indices. You can overwrite the values directly in the table.
- Define the start of the value
- Define the end of the value
- Define the Index Value
Avoid overlappings in between the lines.
