Create a Placement
The placement is, so to speak, the processor for booking your campaign. The placement contains all information with which MYDAS books and controls the campaign. After creating a placement, you can either manually fill this placement with spot bookings or book it automatically. A placement can be continuously improved using the optimizer.
To create a placement you need the following requirements:
- An order must be present
- A campaign must be assigned to the order
- A bundle must be assigned to the campaign
If you take this chain into account, creating a placement is very easy.
The best way to create a placement is through a campaign or bundle. In the following we will show you how to create a placement using a bundle. (= best use case)
To do this, simply click on the Special Action button (1) <Create Placement>. MYDAS creates a placement in the background and adds it to the placement list in the (2) [Placements] tab.
By double-clicking on the new placement, you can also go directly to the corresponding placement view.

MasterData Overview
The placement master data is very extensive. So let's take a quick look at the tab structure:
- In the general tab, you will find all mandatory fields for your placement
- Under Pricing, we will add some additional price information such as Surcharges
- In the area of targets it is about the control of the placement, which is important if the campaign is booked automatically,
- You only need the Interfaces tab if it is an online campaign
- In the Invoice tab, data is mainly displayed, but there are also two selection fields
- Billing provides you with a table with all billing information
- Distribution shows you in a table how the spots are distributed
- The history table shows you the changes to the data set
- Under Issues, you will find a list of problems that arise in the campaign. e.g. creative issues

General Tab
In this area you will find the most important fields that you have to consider when creating your placement. Let's go over these fields, line by line
1. Status / Media Type
The status controls the options for actions you can take with the placement. With the Status Creation, for example, you cannot book but only simulate the booking. You will be able to book a placement in the Status Campaign.
If you miss an action, it is usually not a system error. Often it is due to the status and the associated rights.

The Media Type is currently set to Default Linear.
2. Selling Option / Target Group
Selling option and target group are inherited from the bundle. You can override the values for a placement.
3. Target Unit / Target
You have the option of setting your goal to Spots / Budget or GRP. In the drop down field you set the target type in the target field you define the target value.

4. Pricing / Price
In the Pricing drop-down field, you specify the price type. In the Price field you define the price value.

5. Product / Format Duration
You can select the product from the product drop down. You can also create a new product using the plus button. In this case, the product is automatically assigned to the customer who is assigned to the campaign.
It is important to store a length for the spot.
Attention, you can save the placement without a length. But when simulating a booking or actual booking, you will see an error message.
6. Order Type / Placement Budget
The order type is important to control the billing of the spots. The order types are defined centrally in MYDAS and can be selected from the drop down.
The placement budget does not have to be specified. In the event that no placement budget is required, simply enter 0. (= Default value)
7. Duration
Simply enter the duration of your placement here. Ideally this is maximum of a month.
8. Position / PO Number
In the Position drop-down field, you can specify the position of the spots within the advertising block. For example, if you select First, only those breaks that have free first positions to choose from, will be taken into account when booking. The position can therefore extremely limit the availability of the inventory.
You can enter your customer's number in the PO Number field

Comments / Bundle
Here you can change the bundle if you want to assign a different bundle to the placement. You can also enter comments on placements here.
Sub-order
For a linear placement you have to assign a sub-contract to which the spots can be booked.
Pricing Tab
In the pricing tab you can store additional price information. The surcharges are important here.
You can save the surcharge as a price or as a % value. If you want to save a % value, then activate the corresponding checkbox.
Targets Tab
In the target tab, you can give detailed instructions on how to distribute spot bookings. You can also define optimization strategies here.
Interface Tab
In the Interface tab you can select the interfaces for online placements. You can ignore this tab for TV.
Special Actions
Some of the most important special actions are explained in this section.
Create Distribution
With this button, MYDAS determines the distribution of the spots. You can then check the result of the action in the Distribution tab.
Define Units per Day
You can also manually specify the distribution. To do this, click on the Define Units per Day button. A pop-up window opens in which you can specify the number of bookings for each individual day.

Copy Rotation
The function copy rotation is explained in detail in another chapter, because it can be used in both placement and campaign.
Simulate / Book
Depending on the status, you can simulate the campaign with this action button or have it booked automatically. However, you can also simply save the placement at this point and switch to the Booking Cockpit to make the spot bookings manually.
