Manual booking: Bulk booking calender/list
The Cockpit (Booking > Cockpit) provides the possibilities of displaying breaks for a time range of multiple days and booking spots on multiple days all in one go.
Cockpit Setup
- In the Client-hierarchy it is possible to search for Orders resp. bookable Suborders within a selected year.
- The Cockpit includes several views which provide various actions.
- Filter resp. selection area.
- Buttons to initialize the search for breaks.
- Information on number of selected spots and their total budget within the selected breaks. It is also possible to select breaks randomly by entering a number of spots or entering a budget.
- Buttons to initialize booking resp. to summarize the latest bookings and to create offers.
- The links lead to booking details for the latest bookings and to the session monitor to create booking certificates for specific session. By clicking on 'New' the current session is terminated and a new one initialized.
Optimizer
With the Optimizer, spots for Suborders and Packages can be booked into breaks. By using the filter criteria it is possible to narrow down the selection of available breaks in order to find the perfect slots for booking.
Please note: To be able to book, at least one Suborder has to be selected since its Order Type by its Booking Type and the information whether it is payed or free defines how a booked spot is handled (consumes space in the break; spot is payed; ... etc).
There are various views which can be selected by clicking on the tab 'Optimizer'.
Table view

- The fields within the red frame are mandatory and are filled with the respective data after a Suborder has been selected from the hierarchy. It is not possible to display breaks with these fields being empty.
- Selection of Product and Material is optional. But please note:
- Materials are dependent on the connected Products. If no Product has been selected, it is not possible to select a Material either.
- Beware of restrictions on Media Combinations in the Material master data. If a Material is not available with the same Media Combinations as the Suborder, it will not be displayed in the drop down selection! - - Spot Packages of Suborders are displayed in the Package-field. Depending on the system properties it might be possible to select or deselect the Package.
- Entering a length is mandatory! It has to be entered before a spot can be booked. As long as no Material has been selected, the User can enter his required length for one spot, for multiple spots (eg. 3*20) or for tandem spots (eg. 20+10, 10+5+5, ...). Once a Material is selected for one spot, the Material's length is applied to the field and cannot be changed manually as long as the Material is selected.
- In the third field the validity is displayed. If there is no special validity connected (e.g. of a Package), the Order's validity is applied. - Selection of temporal criteria:
- Time range (date, weekdays, time). It is also allowed to exclude specific days via day filter.
- Break Category (next to the time fields). Enter the identifiers of the required Break Categories to only display breaks for the entered categories. If more than one Break Category is needed, the separator is either ',' or '|' (eg. CB,EB or CB|FB).
- Enter the complete break identifier or parts of it and replace the missing values with *. This way only breaks that match the entered identifier are displayed.
- Program: filter breaks by the program they are placed in. Enter the program title or a part of it and replace the missing parts of its title with *.
- Multiple selection of Break Groups to only display breaks that belong to the selected groups. - Other filter criteria include following:
- Price constraint: it is possible to enter a price range, on individual price or a comparative value (<, >). The prices refer to the linear rate card prices.
- Product exclusions: set the flag if breaks that will violate an exclusion on booking shall be displayed.
- Media: multiple selection of Media. In this way it is possible to filter the breaks by specific Channels. But note: the selected Media must belong the Suborder's Media Combination!
- Rate types: filter the breaks by certain rate types.
The breaks matching the filter criteria are displayed in a list. The columns of the list can be customized by the User via the context menu. The default columns are:
- Media Identifiers of the Media belonging to the Media Combi that is connected to the selected Suborder.
- CR-Day - Date of the CR-relevant broadcast days (CR = Customer Rating Day and follows the format 03:00:00 - 02:59:59).
- Time - Start time of the break.
- Break - Category and identifier of the break.
- Program - Title of the program that is broadcasted before and after to the break.
- RC/sec - Ratecard price for a spot of the length that has been entered in the filter criteria.
- Plan - Planned length of the break. If the User has the respective rights, it is possible to overbook the planned length up to the triple length. If the planned length was 120 sec., overbooking up to -240 sec. would be allowed.
- Open - Available length that is still bookable. It is calculated out of planned length minus total length of the bookings on the break. Once the available length reaches 0 sec. or less, it is shaded yellow.

The lead times are determined in the Media master data. Depending on the current date and the dates of the breaks, these lead times are marked in different shades of red.
Dates and lead times used in the screenshot:
- today: 10.11.2015
- channel leadtime: 3 days (from today) --> 11.11. - 13.11.2015
- internal: 10 days (from today) --> 14.11. - 20.11.2015
- external: 21 days (from today) --> 21.11. - 01.12.2015
Calendar view

The breaks are displayed in calendar format. Each column contains the breaks of one day. Additionally weekends and holidays are highlighted in the header. Booking works exactly as in the other Optimizer views. Immediately after spots are booked, the respective breaks are tagged with the 'booked' stamp, which disappears after reloading the breaks.
GRP booking
This view provides a very detailed view and more possibilities for booking spots based on GRP on Suborders and Packages.
GRP booking is always related to a forecast for a certain Target Group. These forecasts can be imported into MYDAS on a time slot base.
- Selection of a Target Group which is crucial for the visualization and calculation of GRPs for breaks.
-
Filter:
In the left field you can optionally enter a logical operator and a value for comparison. Inserting an operator works as an additional filter on the available breaks.
The operators are: >, >=, <, <=, =
Example: if you insert > 0.20 only breaks that reach a GRP of more than 0.20 will be displayed.
Decimal separator is always . (eg. 0.5) ! -
Target GRP:
If you enter a value here (e.g 2.5), you can automatically select breaks for booking. The system tries to reach the entered GRP-value in total (see 5.) -
Selected GRP:
This field displays the total achieved GRP for the selected breaks. -
Allocator:
If there's a target GRP entered in the Target GRP field, breaks can be selected automatically for booking via clicking on the green arrow. The total GRP of the selected breaks will always be less or equal to the target GRP. - In GRP view the hour utilization is displayed as a default column. It will be described in more detail in the following step.
Hour utilization
The commercial rules are determined in the Media master data. They control, for example, the amount of advertising that is allowed per hour or day.
In this case only the commercial rule by hour is relevant!
The currently bookable available length per hour depending on the active commercial rule, is shaded in light green in the column 'Std'. Once a spot with length X is booked on a break, the available length is reduced by X. After refreshing the view, the reduced available length is applied to the other affected breaks (depending on the active commercial rule).
Please note: the commercial rules are only applied to breaks that are relevant for the commercial rules (Commerical rule relevance of the Break Category).
Status information on booked breaks

Status information is displayed to the right of the breaks and refer to the current selection. This means, for example, that checks are run on exclusions on the selected Advertiser or Product, restrictions on Break Categories for the Suborder, already existing bookings for the selection etc.
